Laurie Davies Adams joined the Pollinator Partnership, aka the Coevolution Institute, in 1997 and has served as its Executive Director for eleven years. In 1999, she spearheaded the establishment of the world’s largest collaborative body dedicated to pollinator conservation, the North American Pollinator Protection Campaign (NAPPC). NAPPC’s accomplishments include the Pollinator Partnership, which provides pollinator information for consumers, gardeners, educators, resource managers, producers and farmers, and the 1996 National Academy of Sciences NRC study, Status of Pollinators in North America. NAPPC has formed partnerships with many influential government agencies such as the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the National Park Service, the U.S. Forest Service, the Department of Defense, the Natural Resources Conservation Service, the U.S. Geological Survey, and the Bureau of Land Management; as a result, over 1.5 billion acres of U.S. public and private land have begun to include pollinators in their land management actions.
